Charles (Chuck) Klatt, 83, of Mishawaka relocated to his heavenly home on Tuesday while holding the hand of his loving wife and sweetheart of 60 years.
Chuck grew up at Boner elementary school and graduated from Madison High. He has enjoyed staying closely connected with all his wonderful friends of the class of 1949.
Chuck’s faith in Christ was a foundation in his life. He poured many years into the Mishawaka First Assembly of God Church, where he found much joy in worshipping our Lord with his accordion, bass fiddle, saxophone and piano talents.
Chuck graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute with a degree in Mathematics and Education. He taught at Madison, his alma mater, as well as Penn High School.
Prior to teaching, Chuck worked with his father as a home builder, Klatt Builders & Son. He later used these carpentry skills working on innovative new projects for Holiday Rambler in Wakarusa.
Chuck has served our country as a Naval Reserve officer during the Korean War.
His greatest joy however was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Irene, as well as his 3 daughters & son-in-laws: Joni (Rich Moser), Toni (Guy Ellis), and Tami (Jim Hock). He has 6 amazing grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Charles (CJ) & Ethan Hock; Charlene, Anne, Lizzy, and Mary Ellis. All were born and raised in Mishawaka.
Family and friends are invited to share love and memories at Bubb Funeral Chapel on Main Street in Mishawaka, Saturday March 7th from 12:00 to 3:00PM. Memorial service at Bubb Funeral Chapel beginning at 3PM.
