John F. “Chico” Trovatore Jr.
April 15, 1927 – February 12, 2019

 

John F. “Chico” Trovatore Jr., 91, of Mishawaka, IN., passed away at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Fl.

John was born on April 15, 1927 in Elkhart, IN., to John F. and Josephine (Iavagnillio) Trovatore Sr. John is survived by his longtime loving companion, Charliene Johnson of Mishawaka, one son, John H. (Jeanie) Trovatore of California, his half sister, Mary (Terry) Stewart and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was preceded death by his parents, a son, Jimmie Joseph Trovatore in 2001, his siblings, Pasquale (Frances) Trovatore, Orlando (Nita) Trovatore, Antoinette (Mike) Mueller, Anne (Ted) Lese, John Trovatore and Joanne Sigsbee.

John was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II in Japan. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Mishawaka, the Moose Lodge, Local Bricklayers Union #4 of Indiana and Kentucky, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Marine Corp. League, Eagles, IARA and USAC. John raced cars at the South Bend Motor Speedway and also at nearby racetracks. John was also an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, where there will also be visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka where V.F.W. #360 will conduct military honors. Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Sharon L. Fisher
March 24, 1938 – February 13, 2019

Sharon L. Fisher, 80,loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, of Haven Court, Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019. She was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on March 24th, 1938 to James and Blanche ( Smith) Miller who both preceded her in death. On April 1st, 1956, she married Larry Fisher on Easter Sunday. They only had one official anniversary and that was last year when Easter fell on April 1st. who survives with two children: Debra Kabzinski and Jeff Fisher. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Bradley Kabzinski, Jason Fisher, Kent Kabzinski and Mary Rabensteine. One great granddaughter, Penelope Rabensteine and two step great grandchildren, Kristen Vance, Jonny Vance. One sister, Joan Lower survives. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda LaLone, Phyllis Moore and Carolyn Eby along with two brothers, Donald Miller and Robert Miller. Funeral services for Sharon will take place at 5:00pm Sunday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, Indiana where friends will be received from 3:00pm until the time of the service on Sunday, February 17th. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are to be made to the Center for Hospice Care.

Lois Ellen Hostetler

Lois Ellen Hostetler

November 11, 1927 – February 11, 2019

Lois Ellen Hostetler, 91, passed away gracefully and peacefully on Monday morning, February 11, 2019 at Hospice House of Elkhart, after a sudden and brief struggle with cancer. Lois was born on November 11, 1927 in Elkhart, Indiana to Harvey and Ethel (Abbey) Kindig. She was a graduate of Elkhart High School.

On June 8, 1946, she married Austin D. Hostetler, Jr. Lois and Austin were married for 62 years, until Austin’s passing in 2008. They were residents of Elkhart, Mishawaka, and Granger. Lois is survived by two of her three children… Daniel (Linda) Hostetler of El Paso, Texas and Lori (Ken) Fozo of South Bend. A daughter, Gayle (John) D’haenens of Mishawaka, passed away in 2015. Lois is also survived by seven of her eight grandchildren… Daniel (Danielle) Hostetler, Jr., Lauren Hostetler (fiancé Maurice Linton), Jon (McDavid Adams) D’haenens, Dr. Joseph (Whitney) D’haenens, Andrew (Sarah Jones) D’haenens, Jessica (Matthew) Duerksen, and Angela (Jason) Cauffman. Her first grandchild, Karen D’haenens, passed away in 1979. Lois was also the proud great-grandmother to Henry, Quentin, Sophia, Matthew, Grace, Makenzie, Preston, Graham, Aubrey, Ashton, Hailie, Austin, and Hayden.

Lois worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for School City of Mishawaka for 21 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the SCM Retired Secretaries group. In her free time, Lois loved to read, sew and crochet. There are many friends and family members who have one of her crocheted blankets.

Lois was a member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ for 33 years. She attended Living Stone Church in South Bend, for a time in more recent years. Lois believed in Jesus and the promise of an eternal home with him. She looked forward to a reunion with her husband, daughter, and granddaughter.

Lois loved family very much…and was intimately and actively involved with them. She was always up for an outing or road trip. Her love, wisdom and fun nature will be greatly missed.

Join us for a celebration of Lois’ life on Thursday, February 14th from 5:00 until 8:00pm in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, and one hour prior to the service on Friday. A service will be held on Friday, February 15th at 10:00am with Pastor Tim Stewart, of North Liberty Church of Christ officiating. She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger.

The family requests that and gifts in Lois’ name be made to the Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545, (www.foundationforhospice.org/giving) where angels work day and night for the patients.

Florence E. Strombeck

Florence E. Strombeck
December 19, 1921 – February 9, 2019

Florence E. Strombeck, 97, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 09, 2019, at her residence. Florence was born on December 19, 1921 in Chicago, IL. to the late George and Edna (Stevens) Taylor. On June 7, 1953, Florence married Paul Strombeck in Plymouth IN. Florence and Paul was married for 50 years. Paul passed away on July 17, 2003. Paul and Florence are also preceded in death by their grandson Shawn Strombeck. Florence is survived by four sons, Michael Name, David (Jodi) Strombeck, Rick (Linda) Strombeck, Larry ( Cindy) Strombeck all from Mishawaka, IN and one daughter, Susan Ingle and her companion George Backert of Elkhart, IN. Florence was a loving and caring grandmother to 7 grandchildren, Erica Name, Christy Strombeck, Chad Strombeck, Michael ( Lori) Strombeck, Jennifer Strombeck, Jason (Nicole) Ingle, Daniel Strombeck. She was also a great grandmother to 21 great grandchildren. Florence is also survived by her sister Helen Ferree from Illinois and preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harold, and Marshall and 2 sisters, Marge and Dorothy. Florence was very active and a devoted member to the First Christian Church of Mishawaka. She enjoyed hand crafting Longaberger Baskets, doing needlepoint and assembling jig saw puzzles. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Bubb Funeral Chapel 3910 N Main St. Mishawaka. The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, February 13th with Reverend Douglas Cripe officiating at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. The family requested for memorial contributions to be made to the First Christian Church of Mishawaka, 2511 E. Third St. Mishawaka, IN 46544.

Rosella M. Beggs

Rosella M. Beggs
April 2, 1922 – February 6, 2019

Rosella M. Beggs, 96, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, February 6th in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka. Rosella was born on April 2, 1922 to Howard and Esther (Smith) Kronwitter. She was a homemaker and loved being able to take care of her family.

Rosella is survived by her daughter, Angela Riffel of South Bend, four grandchildren; Richard Riffel of Mishawaka, Roseanne Reyes of Osceola, Ronald Thompson of Osceola, and Edward (Elizabeth) Thompson of Granger. She was also the great grandmother of eight; Kyle Riffel, Ramsey Sullivan, Riley Sullivan, Troy Reyes, Wyatt Thompson, Lillian Thompson, Oliver Thompson and Stella Thompson. Rosella was preceded in death by three children, James Riffel, Judith Thompson, and John Riffel, along with her sister Joanne Mendez.

As per her wishes there will be no services at this time. She will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery of Mishawaka. Bubb Funeral Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
